The Anfield Stadium was built in 1884, and hosted the Everton FC. In 1891, Everton moved out of it and the newly-founded Liverpool moved in. The stadium underwent several developments in the late 19th and early 20th century. For two decades the stadium remained more or less the same until the Kob-capacity was increased. Once completed, it had space for 30,000 fans. In 1958 the sadium set it's record with 61,905 people attended. Further improvements were made in 1963 and 1973. Anfield was converted to an all-seated stadium in the 1980s. Liverpool wanted to build a new stadium with 60,000 seas, but the new owners of the club decided to rebuild the old main instead, which increases the capacity from 45,522 to a capicity of 54,022. The new Main Stand is exepted to be finished during the 2016/17 season.
